Specialist Teaching Qualification Survey
Consultation on New Postgraduate Qualification in Specialist Teaching
Dear Special Education staff,
The consultation and development of the new postgraduate qualification in specialist teaching(1) is underway; starting with a stakeholder survey on the qualification content.
The new qualification with have endorsements in:
- Early Intervention
- Learning and Behaviour
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Special Learning Needs
- Deaf and Hearing Impairment
- Blind and Vision Impairment
It will be the new recognised specialist qualification for early intervention teachers, teachers and resource teachers of the deaf and hearing impaired, teachers and resource teachers of the blind and vision impaired, and RTLB. This qualification will also be one of the recognised specialist qualifications for special education advisors and will be of interest to SENCOs, learning support teachers and others wishing to up-skill in special education.
